Punishment for criminal trespass Whoever commits criminal trespass shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to three months, or with fine which may extend to five hundred rupees, or with both. [Chapter 17: criminal trespass]

Example: A person who commits criminal trespass may be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to three months, or with fine which may extend to five hundred rupees, or with both. In a real FIR or trial, investigators must show that the facts match the ingredients of the offence (intent, act, and other elements as applicable) under Section 447.
